 ATLANTIS is America's first Knabstrupper stallion!
He was bred by Amelie Schweiger and Sigfried Beck of Asgard Stud in Germany.
Imported to the U.S.A. in January of 2003,
Atlantis (aka Ambrosius af Asgard) was the first Knabstrupper stallion to journey over the Atlantic, thus qualifying his name.
Specifically chosen to help establish
this rare breed in America, this young stallion is positively impacting the breed by reproducing himself. To this end, he continues the legacy that is the Knabstrupper.
Atlantis epitomizes the Knabstrupper's magnificence of mind, body & spirit.
Atlantis embodies all the qualities synonymous with the Knabstrupper breed. Most prominent is a tractable mind that will suit all ages and levels of equine enthusiast. This young prepotent stallion is proving himself as a sire through his progeny. His ability under saddle is also being recognized for upper level potential as his training in both dressage and jumping expands. Presently, he is training at 3rd level dressage and jumping 3'6" courses. We have high hopes for him him as an eventer.
 Exterior: Classical Knabstrupper type with harmonious frame and medium horse size. He displays the traditonial Baroque style indicative of his ancestry. - Sound: hardy constitution w/ample bone and correct limbs.
- Hooves: He has the best feet in the barn! He's never needed shoes; his farrier comments on their nice thick walls and the fact that his babies are getting them too!
TEMPERAMENT ~ 
- Courageous: He is bold yet mannerly and doesn't get nervous in new situations.
- Confident: He appreciates interaction with humans, barn animals and other horses, but is adequate company for himself.
- Charismatic: He has a magnetic nature and lots of heart.
- Calm: He can be stalled next to mares, foals, geldings, stallions without incident.
- Curious: His inquisitive side provides for plenty of personality and constant entertainment.
 ATLETICISM ~ Movement: Balanced gaits with a free-shouldered front end. He has an active walk, fluid trot and cadenced canter. Jumping: Effortless with superb form.

Intelligent: He's a quick study.
Good work ethic: Straight-forward,
uncomplicated and diligent
Sensibe: He's relaxed, willing & safe under saddle. Installs confidence in kids and older greenies who have ridden him.
 COLOR:
24 Knabstruppers within just 4 generations of Atlantis' pedigree is a lot of spots! With the majority being leopards and those mainly with black or bay base coats, one would think Atlantis' probability of producing spotted foals with a dark base coat is high. However, his color production has varied greatly;
he has thrown solid bays, blacks, even a chestnut, leopards AND fewspotted leopards. Probability of his offspring inheriting spots is approximately 50% when bred to solid-coat mares. Interestingly, 80% of his leopard offspring are near leopards with full spotted bodies and solid-colored legs.
 PEDIGREE:
Atlantis is considered 75% purebred Knabstrupper in the 3rd generation.
His breeding features traditional baroque style Knabstruppers in conjunction with Oldenburg and Trakehner influences. His rare bloodline combines "pureblooded" Knab ancestry interspersed with warmblood sport horse breeding in the third generation on the top and bottom; both very good dressage AND jumping horses have hailed from these lines.
 OFFSPRING:
Atlantis' first foals arrived in 2005. His foals have been inspected with high marks, many attaining premium status. With the exception of one mare, all mares have conceived on the first cycle via shipped semen. His get are self-confident, personable, and highy trainable. They demonstrate even paces and uniform "Atlantis-likeness" out of a variety of mare types. Almost all show an aptitude for jumping early on. He has thrown 75% fillies.
